Diana began making quilts in 1972. She has mastered the quiltmaking techniques from piecing to appliqué and fine hand and machine quilting. Diana also painted from the late 1950's to present. Her love of painting is now combined with her lifelong pursuit of quiltmaking. The newest series is the “Painted Art Quilts.” These quilts "just evolved", it seemed the natural outcome to combine her talents in this new art form. She paints her Art Quilts just as she paints her watermedia art on paper. Diana's signature "watercolor" look tends toward the abstract impressionism. If you have seen the places that Diana paints about, you will easily understand her love of life, our Earth and our being here. Diana says about her work. "I love to make these painted quilts, they are my new passion. My life has been so full, and I have so many quilts to paint, where does the time go? If you have a "place" you would like to have painted, I love the challenge and welcome commission work.” Please send your inquiry to Diana through this web site.
