This segment of my collection of Quilts includes a range of different styles dating from 1920 to the present. The 1930's are divided into pieced and applique. The 1930’s quilts have their distinct look due to the style of the fabrics that were available during the late 1920’s to 1945. The invention of the Pant-o-graph in the late 1800’s revolutionized the printing industry. The print styling changed from the shirting prints to larger and multi-colored decorative floral and geometric designs. Fabrics were used for women’s, children’s clothing as well as home décor. The scraps of these prints can be seen in the 1930’s quilts. There were thousands of patterns printed then, and there are hundred’s of reproductions being done at this time. It is important to the quilt buyer to know if the 1930’s quilt is authentic, or a reproduction. It is equally important that the collector of fine quilts owns a few 1930’s quilts.
Here you will find the Amish and the "Sampler" quilts. I have selected some of my finest for sale here. I have 60 additional 1930’s quilts, 12 Amish and 20 Sampler quilts. Feel free to send an email to see more quilts or request more information about the quilts pictured here.
